Floating mode vs Standard mode

The terminal was traditionally a Multiple Document Interface (MDI) application (standard mode) - this means that there is one large main window that contains all the individual windows (such as Markets, Orderbooks, Custom lists and Charts). This makes it very easy to use, but it does limit the flexibility in where you can place windows and external applications.

To overcome these limitations we introduced an optional mode called Floating. In floating mode, each individual window can be dragged across multiple screens and is not confined to one large main window.

How to activate floating mode?

Floating can be enabled by going to the main menu, and choosing settings. Under "Workspace layout" activate "Floating". You may have to restart Infront for the changes to take place.

We recommend placing the toolbar at the top of your monitor so that it is easy to find.
