Desktops |
Description Desktops are collections of windows grouped on one tab. They work in a similar way as worksheets in Microsoft Excel and are only visible one at a time. You can create your own desktops or choose from ready made desktops. When saving the workspace, all desktops are stored in the workspace file. The separate desktops files can also be saved on a local repository for sharing with colleagues or be uploaded to the server for easy sharing in a whole company or department. When selecting "Desktop" from the main menu you see all ready made desktop and can select freely. If you are running the terminal in floating mode you can select which screen to open the desktop. Adding DesktopsCreate new pages by clicking the "+" or right-clicking the existing pages and select "Add desktop...". Enter a name for the desktop and press Enter. Use the same right-click menu to rename an existing desktop. Deleting Desktops To delete a desktop right-click and select "Remove desktop". ShortcutsTo switch between the desktops use the mouse or press the keyboard buttons ”Alt”+1, ”Alt”+2 etc. In addition Alt+1, Alt+2 etc. can be used to go to the first and second desktop and on. You can also use the Ctrl+PgUp/PgDn keys to go to the previous and next desktop, respectively. To move a window from one desktop to another, focus the window then press Alt+PgUp/PgDn to move to the previous or next desktop. There are three menu options that allow you to freely move desktops around. The Move desktop menu item will prompt you for a new desktop number for the desktop. The Move desktop Left (Shift+Ctrl+PgUp) and Move desktop Right (Shift+Ctrl+PgDn) commands can be used to quickly move a desktop to another position. Saving a DesktopTo save a desktop, open the Main menu and click Cloud or press Alt+N. Selecting the monitor to saveOn a multi-monitor system when terminal is on floating mode. you need to select the monitor that contains the windows you want to save to a Desktop file. Selecting the countrySelect a country that is most relevant for the windows in the Desktop file you want to save. If there is no specific country, select "World". Selecting the server visibilityDepending on your access level, you may be able to to select who will be able to download the saved Desktop. Selecting a title and descriptionType an appropriate title and a relevant description for the Desktop. Setting up a shared Desktop repositoryTo set up a shared Desktop repository, select Tools, Preferences and click on the folders tab to set the path to the repository folder. |
